Most gamblers are thrilled when they discover a new gambling destination. Therefore, 2018 is promising to be an excellent year for gamblers on the East Coast due to the numerous upcoming casino openings and renovations.

Take a glimpse at four East Coast casinos that have exciting plans for the upcoming year. It’s incredibly easy to feel enthusiastic about them.

MGM Springfield

Massachusetts will witness the debut of its first authentic Las Vegas-style casino when MGM Springfield opens its doors in September 2018.

In June 2015, Plainridge Park Casino introduced a slots parlor, distinguishing it from Las Vegas-style casinos. Additionally, the highly anticipated Wynn Boston Harbor commercial casino project has a scheduled opening in 2019. Consequently, MGM Springfield is set to take the spotlight in 2018.

Currently under construction in Springfield’s South End neighborhood is the MGM complex, which has a price tag of $960 million.

Upon completion, MGM Springfield will boast an expansive interior space measuring 760,000 square feet. The establishment will house a luxurious four-star hotel with 270 rooms, accompanied by an impressive 45,000 square feet of meeting and convention space. Additionally, a lavish 7,000 square-foot spa and a vast 55,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space will enhance the overall experience.

In terms of gambling, visitors can anticipate discovering a wide array of offerings that include 3,000 slot machines, 100 table games, a designated poker room, and an exclusive high-limit VIP gaming area.

In addition, the development is anticipated to include an entertainment square, along with various other entertainment facilities such as retail space, restaurants, bars, a movie theater, a bowling facility, and an outdoor plaza as outlined in the proposed plans.

MGM Springfield officials assert that the project is still on schedule for its anticipated opening in September 2018, which is indeed a reason for great enthusiasm.

Resorts World Catskills

Scheduled to open in March 2018, the fourth and final commercial casino property approved by the state of New York is not only the most impressive but also the last of the four.

Describing the Resort World Catskills as simply “big” would be a gross understatement, considering its staggering $1.2 billion worth.

The construction near Monticello, Upstate New York, in Kiamesha Lake is nearly complete. It is worth mentioning that the property occupies the same land where the renowned Concord Hotel Catskills resort used to stand. Just like the iconic movie Dirty Dancing, Resort World Catskills refuses to be overlooked or underestimated.

Initially named Montreign, the original plan underwent a change when Empire Resorts, the operator, partnered with the renowned casino company Resorts World and its Malaysian owner, The Genting Group. As a result, a decision was made to undergo a re-branding process in the spring of this year.

The upcoming Catskills casino and hotel boasts an impressive 18 stories, offering an array of luxurious amenities. Among these are 332 opulent suites, a spa and salon for ultimate relaxation, two pools to take a refreshing dip, two fitness centers to stay active, and a grand event room capable of accommodating 2,000 individuals.

The casino is set to feature a gaming floor spanning 100,000 square feet, housing 134 table games and over 2,100 cutting-edge slot machines. Additionally, there are intentions to incorporate exclusive gaming salons and a poker room with 19 tables.

In addition, the resort offers an 18-hole golf course that has been redesigned by Rees Jones. Furthermore, there are upcoming developments for a 24-hour cafe along with multiple bars and restaurants. Notably, one of the dining establishments will be a luxurious Italian steakhouse managed by the renowned Scott Conant from the Food Network.

Although there are additional amenities, we have already included enough to generate excitement. However, it’s worth noting that these amenities are tucked away in the Catskills, quite a distance from civilization.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City

In one bold move, Hard Rock International is taking on the challenge of reviving both the once-thriving Trump Taj Mahal and the city of Atlantic City’s reputation.

The unveiling of the results of these efforts is scheduled to take place during the summer of 2018, when the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City opens in New Jersey.

Boasting a staggering 2,400 slot machines and an impressive array of 130 table games, the casino is set to become one of the largest establishments in town. Yet, this project encompasses far more than just a casino.

The Taj interior is undergoing a complete redesign by Hard Rock. Guests can look forward to exceptional dining and beverage choices, including the newly relocated and expanded Hard Rock Cafe Atlantic City boasting 400 seats, an enhanced stage, and convenient beach access.

In addition, the developers assure that the property will establish itself as the top-notch entertainment hub in Atlantic City. For this purpose, they are constructing two distinct arenas boasting over 7,000 seats each, which will showcase live music, sports events, conferences, and various shows.

All entrances to the property are being reconstructed, and every hotel room is undergoing renovation. Additionally, Hard Rock is revamping the overall decor of the property to showcase a portion of the company’s extensive collection of music memorabilia, paying tribute to musicians and artists from New Jersey.

There are plans underway to establish a Rockstop Gas & Wash gas station outside.

In the 1990s, the Taj Mahal reigned as Atlantic City’s most lucrative casino. Nevertheless, in recent years, the Taj has come to represent the continuous decline of the Atlantic City Boardwalk.

Just when the property and its surroundings are in dire need of some excitement, Hard Rock is here to bring it back.

Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia

Originally scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2018, the Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia, worth $600 million, faced numerous regulatory obstacles and had to comply with state casino ownership laws. As a result, the opening has been postponed to 2020. Nevertheless, construction will commence in 2018, providing ample reason for excitement.

Located in South Philadelphia, Live! Casino and Hotel Philadelphia is being built right next to the city’s sports stadiums. This strategic location ensures that it will attract gambling enthusiasts and sports fans throughout the year, as these two forms of modern-day entertainment go hand in hand.

The project is already positioning itself as the foremost all-encompassing gaming, resort, entertainment, and sports destination in the United States.

The casino is set to offer a total of 2,000 authentic cash slots and 125 game tables. In addition to that, the adjacent hotel will provide over 200 rooms for accommodation. Furthermore, there are intentions to construct a parking garage spanning 2,600 square feet. Get ready to have a great time!

Though it may be premature, we are already filled with excitement.
