5 Things We’re Loving At Resorts World Las Vegas

Written By Marc Meltzer on July 9, 2021

After breaking ground in 2015, Resorts World Las Vegas (Resorts World) has finally opened its doors. This vast property spans 88 acres on the northern end of the Vegas Strip. The grand casino resort, which cost a whopping $4.3 billion, had not one, but two openings. The soft opening occurred on June 24, followed by a grand opening celebration on July 4th, featuring a spectacular fireworks display and a performance by Miley Cyrus.

Resorts World boasts an awe-inspiring casino resort that offers over 3,500 rooms across three renowned Hilton Hotel brands. The primary brand, Hilton, features a total of 1,774 rooms and suites, while the largest Conrad hotel in the United States provides 1,496 rooms and suites. Additionally, Resorts World offers a limited number of exquisite Crockfords luxury rooms and suites, totaling just 236. For added convenience, Hilton Honors Rewards members have the opportunity to utilize their points for room bookings.

In the grand opening of a casino in 2021, one can anticipate an abundance of contemporary amenities. Moreover, familiar elements that Las Vegas tourists may have encountered previously are elevated to new heights.

Scott Sibella, president of Resorts World Las Vegas, expressed his immense pride and honor as he officially announced the opening of our doors, marking a significant milestone for Genting and our entire Resorts World Las Vegas family.

He proceeded to explain, “This extraordinary resort was crafted to introduce a fresh era of hospitality in Las Vegas, offering unmatched dining and entertainment experiences, a wide selection of luxurious hotel accommodations, and cutting-edge technology.”

I had to visit multiple times to determine if the newest Las Vegas casino lived up to its hype. To be honest, there were a few issues during the initial days. However, I am pleased to inform you that the majority of these problems were resolved by my second visit.

The property is adorned with stunning features, offering delightful surprises such as a hidden bar behind a door, captivating art pieces, and fascinating historical imagery.

If you’re in Vegas, a visit to Resorts World is an absolute must. Here are the top five things that we’re absolutely loving about this new hotel in Vegas.

1. New tech that every casino should have

Resorts World sets itself apart from other casinos by introducing cutting-edge technology that should be standard in every Las Vegas casino. However, it is worth noting that the majority, if not all, of the technology offered at Resorts World is already accessible at various businesses nationwide.

Resorts World stands as the pioneering Las Vegas casino, introducing cashless spending not only within its premises but also in its restaurants. Remarkably, Resorts World holds the esteemed title of being the world’s first cashless casino.

Guests have the option to add funds to their Resorts World app, which can be used for slot machines, table games, or retail outlets without the need to handle physical money. However, it is important to note that using cash, credit cards, or charging to a room is also accepted at the relevant venues for visitors who prefer these methods.

Resorts World Las Vegas stands out as the sole property providing kiosk and mobile ordering for its quick-serve restaurants, as the convenience of ordering food through phones has become ingrained in people’s daily lives due to COVID-19. This 16-stall food hall exclusively accepts orders through these efficient channels.

Table games at Resorts World now support TITO, while slot machine enthusiasts have long relished in the convenience of Ticket In Ticket Out technology. What sets Resorts World apart is its pioneering initiative to enable players to utilize their slot tickets for purchasing chips, making it the first casino to offer such a feature.

While not revolutionary, this simple change eliminates a few routine steps for slot machine players. They no longer need to exchange their tickets for chips, saving them a valuable two minutes, which can be significant while in Las Vegas.

Introducing “On The Fly” by GrubHub, a fresh approach for enjoying room service or placing food orders for pick up at Resorts World. With this innovative service, guests can effortlessly access the Grubhub app and select their preferred option of either delivery or pick up from the diverse range of restaurants available within Resorts World.

Picking up food incurs no charge, and you will be informed of the estimated time for food preparation. The prices for room service are equivalent to those in the restaurant, with a minimal fee of only $8.50. This cost is notably lower than what is typically charged at other Las Vegas casinos.

2. A massive Buffalo Link slot machine installation at Resorts World

The gaming space at Resorts World’s casino is truly remarkable, spanning an impressive 117,000 square feet.

In addition to a sportsbook that will be discussed later, the casino floor boasts over 1,400 slot machines, 117 table games, a spacious 30 table poker room, and no less than three high limit gaming rooms.

While everything else may be impressive, there is one image that truly captures attention on the gaming floor. Right in the center of the casino floor at Resorts World, there is a colossal slot machine installation featuring Buffalo Link by Aristocrat Technologies.

In this game, there are approximately 26 positions divided into two rows. The immense popularity of the newest Buffalo slot machine compelled us to patiently wait until the early morning hours in search of an available seat.

Genting Rewards offers Resorts World gamblers the opportunity to earn and utilize points and tier status.

3. Dawg House Sportsbook and Saloon

Resorts World Las Vegas features Dawg House Sportsbook and Saloon

The idea behind the Dawg House sportsbook and saloon at Resorts World is not entirely original. Similar sportsbooks that serve food and drinks can be found at Sahara and Park MGM. Occasionally, you may even come across live performances by artists at the BetMGM Sportsbook in Park MGM.

The Dawg House sportsbook and saloon elevates the concept to a whole new level. Capturing the entire space in a single picture is an impossible task. With approximately 100 seats in the sportsbook area alone, the remaining part of the venue accommodates hundreds more, all equipped with TVs spread throughout.

In the main area of Dawg House, you can find two video poker bars and a stage for live performances. Most nights, there is free entertainment available for guests to enjoy. Occasionally, ticketed performances are also offered. Whether it’s day or night, guests have the opportunity to indulge in gaming, savor Tennessee BBQ, play video poker, and relish in a band’s performance – all simultaneously.

This sportsbook offers a one-of-a-kind experience, which may not appeal to fans who prefer traditional settings like Circa sportsbook. Nevertheless, for mainstream sports enthusiasts who enjoy eating, drinking, and listening to live music while watching their wagered games, this setting is sure to be fantastic.

4. The pool deck at Resorts World Las Vegas

Just one of the many pool areas at Resorts World Las Vegas.

Circa’s Stadium Swim has raised the standards for rooftop pool decks in Las Vegas, while Resorts World stands out as the sole Vegas Strip venue to feature an infinity-edge pool on its rooftop.

Resorts World boasts a total of eight pools. Among them, two pools, featuring the mesmerizing infinity edge, are exclusively designated for VIPs and guests staying at Crockfords hotel. Considering the limited number of Crockfords rooms, which is fewer than 250, there should typically be a cabana accessible for reservation.

There are numerous spots available at the main pool complex for swimming. Moreover, multiple options are provided for getting drinks or food. Additionally, guests have the convenience of ordering drinks from servers who roam around, or they can use On The Fly on their mobile devices to have food delivered from the restaurants within the casino.

For those who enjoy the outdoors but prefer not to soak up the sun, there is an additional fantastic amenity. The pool area offers numerous shaded spots where one can unwind, read a book, or utilize a mobile device. These shaded areas are not restricted to individual umbrellas alone; there are also spacious canopies conveniently located a short distance away from the pools.

5. A roaming drink cart

The roaming drink cart at Resorts World Las Vegas.

While you’re engrossed in playing slot machines, you may start to notice the absence of a cocktail waitress for quite some time. However, worry not, as a drink cart consistently roams the slot floor, offering an array of beverages including beer, hard seltzer, and water.

To be honest, this service is truly remarkable and should be made available by every casino without delay. Although the quality of the drinks may not be the finest, it’s still a relief to have something to quench your thirst when the casino is crowded.
